The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Buddhism
Published in Paperback by Alpha Books (16 October, 2002)
Authors: Bradley K. Hawkins and Nancy Lewis
Average review score:

Not as Idiotic as the Title Implies
Despite its title and misleading cover blurbs (there are no "Zen-ful tips" as the cover says), this is actually a good overview of the many different schools of Buddhism. This is not a book of Buddhist teachings but a historical survey of Buddhism from its beginnings to the present day. It does go into some of the doctrinal differences between some of the Buddhist schools, but the primary value of this book is in providing a framework for understanding Buddhism in all its varied forms.

Bled Through
An excellent review of the need for capitation spending in American healthcare. Not meant to be a political guide, it explains the level of compication today in probably the largest industry in the country and provides a solution to the mix. Clear, resourceful and motivating, the author has solved the problems, if only people would listen.

Research
Published in Paperback by Springer Verlag (December, 1994)
Authors: C. Hawkins and M. Sorgi
Average review score:

Great !!
Really intricate doom metal from Italy. A driving beat a la Black Sabbath/Metallica, death growling vocals (but not obnoxious), and real good piano/keyboard throughout. Also, great, and I mean great, heavy bass playing. When the lead guitarist solos, it takes you on an Iron Maiden/Ynigwie Malmsteen journey of extreme showmanship...also, some very nice acoustic guitar passages. If you can afford the price, it's really worth your effort. Very highly recommended.

Great Game
This is a roleplaying game about pirates and bucaneers of the caribean in the 1600's. Great roleplaying oppurtunites are abundant in this world of brutality and intrigue. Solid and easy combat and skill rules insure quick fast-paced action. Maps of the area with rich descriptions of the lands abound as do the lists of equipment and ships. It's worth the price.
